There Ought To Be A Law

There ought to be a law prohibiting the use of sirens in radio commercials or songs played on the radio. It's pretty nerve racking to be looking for an emergency vehicle and then realizing it was in the background of the radio commercial!

I Knew That Was Going To Happen

Don't laugh but at times I feel that I have a psychic ability. Now I can't foresee the future so I can't figure out what the winning lottery numbers will be so don't even ask. I can't choose to foresee the future; it just comes to me and then something happens. When I was younger, I went on a Girl Scout Summer Camp backpacking trip and had a dream that it was going to snow. Mind you this trip was in August. The next day when we left we started hiking and the weather actually turned into a weird freak storm - we got stuck in hail and rain and the girls at the head of the group got stuck in the snow!As I was driving to Pennsylvania, I had a "vision" that my truck would catch on fire and I would be pulling a fireball. Not a pretty picture! When I stopped for gas, I checked the truck and made sure all the chains were connected and that the truck was in neutral. Everything was okay. About a hundred miles down the road, three men started waving at me to pull over. Now this is not something that a female driving by herself in an unknown area wants to experience. I slowed down and took the next exit. The guys in their car were there. They rolled down their window and told me that I was dragging the muffler on my truck and it was sparking. I pulled into a racing arena (nice crowded parking lot!) and the guys took of my muffler and pipe so I could finish the drive to Penn State. As one of the guys was taking off the muffler, he said "You were sparking like crazy. In a few minutes, you would have been pulling a fireball behind you".

The Need For Speed

The drive to Pennsylvania was long -11 hours of driving- which normally is not that bad except I had to drive the speed limit or less the entire trip. I usually am a fast driver - it's not unusual to cruise at 80 MPH on the freeway so driving 55-65 the entire way made the trip long. I am not used to big rigs passing me!
